A Cute Craft

I have found a new blog that I LOVE called So You Think You're Crafty!  It is a competition of sorts where bloggers audition and, once chosen, submit a weekly craft that others can vote on.  The winning gal each week posts a tutorial for her cool project.  Neat!

Anyways, I was looking through the crafts from two weeks ago (The theme was "Under $5), and came across the cutest felt "on the go" book. It won, so the tutorial was also posted.  (Not that I couldn't have figured it out on my own, but it's nice to have a little guidance.)
Gracie is still a little too young for this sort of thing, so I decided to make it as a birthday present for a sweet friend who lives across the street.

Here's how it turned out:

Cute, huh?
If you too would like to try it just know:  Looks simple, but it wasn't.
It almost drove me to say some really bad words.  I might never do a felt project again.
Seriously.  That is until Gracie is old enough to want one too...

Is This Working?

If you can see my new header, please comment and let me know...I've been having difficulties with blogger for the past few days!

Dishtowel Dress

Two dishtowels, two yards of grosgrain ribbon, this tutorial, and ten minutes later...

A Valentine's dishtowel dress!

I found the dishtowels in the Dollar Spot at Target. They were 2/$2.50. Cheap and easy! The best part about this dress:no hemming-the seams are already finished. Yay!
(The towels were the perfect length for a dress, but they were kind of skinny...even for my skinny minnie two-year-old. Might want to try some wider towels for an older child.)
You can bet that I'll be making more of these in the future.
Next up on our Valentine's Day craft list, these fun salt dough ornaments and maybe a heart garland to spruce up the mantle. Thanks Mary Catherine for the cute ideas!

Celebrate the Boy!

I am starting out my Sassy new blog with a tribute to my sweet little boy!

Throughout the month of February, MADE and Made by Rae will be celebrating little boys by posting daily tutorials and crafts aimed at our favorite little fellas. Head on over to one of their blogs and grab their button-I'm following all month and promise to post lots of creations. Can't wait to see what you make too!
